About
Arthur Glass founded Mission of Excellence to help young people see beyond the limited opportunities they perceive in their communities. He believes that many young people idolize drug dealers and gang members because they see them as successful, despite their criminal activities. Mission of Excellence aims to introduce these young people to a wider community and show them that there are more fulfilling and rewarding paths to success.
Glass's own childhood experiences influenced his mission. Growing up in a segregated neighborhood, he had the opportunity to interact with successful black professionals like Chester I. Lewis and Vashti Lewis. This exposure helped him understand the importance of community and the diverse range of opportunities available.
Today, while the barriers of segregation have been largely removed, the legacy of past injustice continues to affect many young people. Mission of Excellence seeks to address this by providing them with guidance, mentorship, and exposure to a broader range of possibilities.
Our Mission
The program aims to guide young people from middle school through high school by teaching them about money, education, and business. The goal is to equip them with the skills to become successful adults.
